TunnelBear recently released version 5.8 of its TunnelBear VPN app for the Mac with some changes for Free tier user accounts. While Free users will still be able to connect securely, some advanced features will be available only to Paid subscribers, including the ability to select a country, the SplitBear feature (which provides control over which apps and websites can use the VPN connection), and upcoming unspecified customization features. Free users can still access 2 GB of encrypted data per month. TunnelBear costs $9.99 per month for unlimited data, and an annual subscription is on sale for $47.99 for a limited time (a $12 savings).
