Maybe they meant in the same room. Perhaps the installer needed to concentrate on what it was doing.
It behaved a bit strange for me as well. When I came home yesterday I noticed that the screen was active on my iPad (and apparently had been for hours based on the battery level). The only odd thing I could notice was the update waiting. Not the best implementation.
Bizarre. Maybe the software has a COVID variant.
You’re assuming that “hitting pause” is the correct choice. If someone’s listening to, say, a podcast, he or she might not appreciate it being interrupted for several minutes because the iPhone decides to update itself in the middle. There’s no real harm in waiting.
