I’ve set apps to never keep their windows open (Settings > Desktop & Dock > Windows > Close windows when quitting an application) and most apps respect that. But it appears that ever since one of the Sonoma dot updates, TextEdit has stopped doing that. Now, upon launch it will — only at times — show some windows that were open last session. I have not been able to recognize a pattern when it does and does not respect my preference.
Is this a bug anybody else has seen? Is there an additional setting for TextEdit to rein this in?
