Text Replacement Syntax?

Greetings! Transitioning from MBP on Sierra with TextExpander to a MBA without it (as it is subcriptionware now).
Wondering if MacOS Text Replacement has a ‘syntax’ or whatever it’s called for basic options the TextExpander has, like cursor placement after Replacement etc.
Seems TR acknowledges space characters and returns.
For example I use an email salutation TR that includes a space character and a comma, then 2 returns, so I am often trackpadding or arrow-keying back to the recipient name spot, type it and then same to get down to start the body.
Does anyone know if TR has secret characters/codes/syntax so that one can type the abbreviation and find the cursor at the desired spot?

Alfred does:

Thanks for the suggestion @matt, I’ll look at it in more depth later, initially it looks a bit more than what’s needed for the task. Maybe it solves other frustrations I didn’t know there were solutions for!

I mostly use it as Spotlight replacement, plus Clipboard History and Snippets, with a handful of Workflows to do cool things more easily.

Alfred does look quite powerful, thanks for the suggestion! Text Expander helped a lot and I enjoyed using it, it was the right tool for the job at the time but I subscribe to very few digital products.

I also moved from Textpander (as it was called in the age of dinosaurs) to Alfred.
