So, I have found that Audio HiJack can record what the Music app is playing and I can then save that without DRM impediments.

I am a musician and use Amazing Slow Downer (ASD) which can adjust the tempo of a music file without changing its pitch. The app is on the App Store, but can no longer open purchased Apple music files. It formerly could. When I want to learn a new piece I now use Audio HiJack to record a file which will work with ASD.
