How do I open a .dat file in Monterey?
Klammer and TNEF’s enough don’t seem to work for me …
.dat is not a standard file type of any kind. It usually just means its a data file from some application.
You would need to know what application generated it in order to know how to read it. But I suppose if you had the application, you could just use it to read the file as well.
This is a Microsoft Word email file.
There’s a program called MailRaider that can open those, if I recall correctly.
Perhaps curiously, on iOS I use a very simple and effective .dat Microsoft Outlook file opener. It’s called Letter Opener. There are various versions and add-ons for MacOS as well. Not cheap, but works very well.
