The Omni Group has updated its OmniFocus task management app to version 4.9 to add compatibility with macOS 27 Golden Gate and support for date-parsing assistance via Apple Intelligence. The release can optionally consult the on-device Apple Intelligence model when the built-in date parser can’t resolve an entered date for improved natural language input (a beta feature that requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device). It also adds support for Siri AI reminder functionality in Golden Gate, which enables Siri to know about reminders in OmniFocus, as well as lists and groups that can contain reminders. Additionally, OmniFocus 4.9 adds several new Shortcuts actions, allows interactive status circles to be turned off in Widgets, replaces Linked Folder functionality with Connected Folders, updates the appearance of the Forecast sidebar calendar to match Liquid Glass design elements better, ensures custom notifications are correctly titled, displays the Perspectives Bar as a sidebar in Golden Gate, and now requires a minimum of macOS 15.2 Sequoia.
