I started noticing in Sequoia and similar in Tahoe

I find that I cannot move items into folders while in List View. After numerous failures, however, I am able to successfully proceed by changing the destination folder into Icon View … then I can drag and drop an item. But this means I have to scurry about opening folders separately and such

This seems a bit too cumbersome of an “upgrade” in Mac interface.

I’ve run into that a few times, too. When it happens, it almost seems as if there is an invisible layer or window over the target that prevents a user from dragging and dropping as expected.

I’ve also noticed similar in Sequoia (not on 26 yet). Drag-n-drop in Finder sometimes works, sometimes not. I haven’t tried the icon view change, sometimes I open the destination folder in a new Window and then the drag-n-drop works. Frustrating when something that worked for decades suddenly doesn’t!
