DEVONtechnologies has released Neo Network Utility 2.0 with a refreshed design for macOS 26 Tahoe and support for opening multiple windows. The free network discovery, testing, and monitoring tool now enables you to switch tools with menu commands and keyboard commands, adds support for displaying SSID and BSSID when location services is enabled, lets you set a preferred color scheme and accent color, adds an option to select the interface to use for the speed test, fixes a bug that prevented the Speed Test heading from showing in macOS 13 Ventura, and ensures the USB adapter vendor is reliably displayed. (Free, 14.3 MB, release notes in the app, macOS 13+)

If you get connection errors attempting to update the Neo Network utility, or an error because Safari can’t make a secure connection to DEVONtechnologies | Apps, it is because Apple has not included the Sectigo Public Server Authentication CA DV R36 certificate in older macOS versions. It isn’t in Ventura, it is in Sequoia.

You can get the missing root certificate from Sectigo’s download site. The one to download is Sectigo Public Server Authentication Root R46 2/17/2025.

  1. Download the certificate.
  2. Open the certificate; macOS will prompt you to modify the system keychain. That’s what you want to do.
  3. In Keychain Access, double-click it in the System keychain.
  4. Set Trust > When using this certificate > Always trust.
