My recent upgraded iPhone issues

  1. I lost some iOS apps because they are not in Apple’s app store anymore like ValuPak (already e-mailed them about this). I assume there’s no way to restore them from my old iPhone and iTunes back up. :(

  2. Some apps lost their settings like in BibleChat app, downloaded offline maps in some map apps. I had to start new. :(

  3. New 17 is sure slippery and heavy compared to my old 12 mini, age, and disabilities. I am waiting for my Amazon.com order.

Unless the developer removed the app, you may be able to download the newest version compatible with your phone by opening the App Store, cllicking on your account (upper right corner), clicking Apps, then “My Apps”, and then looking for it in the list of apps that appears.

It says the app isn’t available. :(

Unfortunately, unless you have a backup of the app, say from iMazing, you’re probably out of luck then.

Several folks here have mentioned this before. iMazing can save multiple versions of apps in your local library (i.e., on your Mac) which you can [re]install if the App store no longer has the app. Or, even, install an older version of an app because the new one has issues.

I still have my 12 mini with the old apps. Why didn’t iOS’ quick start not transfer them over instead of having to redownload from the Internet? :(

In my experience QuickStart basically transfers settings and lists…anything that can be downloaded will be downloaded, not transferred. All that will have been transferred is a list of your apps.

For better or worse, that’s just how Quick Start works. I guess it’s another way that Apple pushes users to run the latest version of software as often as it can, regardless of a user’s wishes.
