Modern CSV 2.2

Originally published at: Modern CSV 2.2 - TidBITS

Gallium Digital has released Modern CSV 2.2 with the much-requested print and PDF export capabilities, a notable omission in the previous version of the CSV manipulation app (see “Modern CSV Lets You Manipulate CSV Files Directly,” 25 November 2024). Although its print options aren’t as flexible as those in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets with respect to resizing to fit the page or setting page breaks, it offers a worthwhile selection of options within its predictably non-standard interface. It can print all data or just the selected rows or columns, and options provide control over printing headers, labels, and gridlines. You can opt to center the printed data, adjust the page order when the data exceeds a single page width, and include the file title and page numbers. Unusually, this window also allows you to specify the destination for exported PDFs. There are no print-specific font or size controls—those are configured for the app as a whole in the Settings window—and you may need to adjust column widths to ensure everything fits. But it can now print! (Free/$39/$59, free update, 27.1 MB, release notes, macOS 10.11+)

I feel like there should be a deal for this app on the benefits page… ;-)

I’ll ask, but there is a free version that does a lot of what many people need.

I caved in and bought it :-)
