I had the Same (as reported previously) problem that AutoUPdate would not install 16.26 to replace the existing 16.25.
I used the reported approach of directly downloading the updates, expanding them and replacing the 16.25 versions
I have not determined why autoupdate doesn’t work EVEN though it reports “successful”
Neither of my Clones, nor TM copies are being updated to 16.26. Frustrating
