After installing the macOS 13.6.9 the following features were disabled
HoudahSpot & Tembo: mail search is disabled as 13.6.9 disables Apple Mail plugins
CyberPower Power Panel Personal: Ceases to function with the latest download and earlier downloads. Additionally, the latest edition is doubletalk. The Update states macOS 15+ only but opening the download button indicates it also supports Ventura. One area of their website states to uninstall all previous versions but another area of the states an earlier version of the app must be previously installed first. However, I could not find an earlier version on their website. I happened to find one, installed it and it did not work either. It did work under previous versions of Ventura. I even changed out the USB cable with a new one with no effect. Could not find anything on their website indicating this issue with 13.6.9
CyberPower Power Panel Personal doesn’t work in MacOS 14 Sonoma either. It was a junky/clunky app at best (probably Java); the Energy Saver system setting works almost equally well (System Settings/Energy Saver/UPS Options…), although it lacks some of the awkward reporting capabilities of CPPP.
You didn’t say which version of PowerPanel Personal you had before, and which version you’re trying to install now.
One thing to note is that version 2.5 and later must be installed in the Applications folder. The installer and launchctl files have hard-coded paths to the daemon files at this path.
And I’ve hit cases where the only way to get a new version to install and work is to completely uninstall the existing version first.
Thank you for the info. Could not get it to work in 13.6.9. Tried deleting it completely with CleanMyMac; reinstalling it; Deleting it again; Installing previous version that did not work either, then updating it; Changing out the USB cable. Other than launching and info, it was totally unresponsive. Plan to call their support about it but can’t today as prepping for one of the two pain and migraine groups I facilitate, sending out meeting reminders, and ironing out the details for a presentation at our meeting from two Stanford Healthcare doctors on their Psilocybin clinical trial presentation to the group. What I may not have tried yet is reinstalling it with System Integrity off, but not today.
I had 2.5 working on my previous version of Ventura but after the installing of 13.6.9 it stopped working so I:
Installed 2.6 over it and it failed
Uninstalled 2.6 with Clean My Mac
Installed 2.6 again and failed
Uninstalled 2.6 and Installed 2.4.8 as on the CyberHome web page it stated a previous version needed to be installed first and with no previous version on the Cyberhome website that was the latest early version I had. That did not work.
Reinstalled 2.6 over it and that did not work
Changed out the USB cable for new one and that didn’t work
Recently I noticed that System Integrity was turned on which I normally have off. It was likely turned on when a did a PRAM reset. So, when I have time, I will reinstall 2.6 again since I have turned it off again. If that fails, I am out of ideas.
I am successfully using CyberPower PowerPanel Personal 2.5.1 (2f3b199) with MacOS 13.6.9 on a 2017 27" iMac. The app tells me that there’s a 2.5.2 update available, but I’m not sure I want to try it.
Thank you for working on this with me. When launched it shows no information, indicates it is not connected. However Energy Saver senses the CyberHome via the cable and allows me to make UPS adjustments within it. I did not save a 2.5.2 installer as the program did it as an update. So all I have is the 4.8.2 and that was not working either on 13.6.9.
You’re right, thanks! There was a 2.6 update, apparently from June 2024, of which I wasn’t aware (it’s a bare-bones app and doesn’t automagically check for updates). The new version works with MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.
Bizarre! I literally spent hours on the phone with CyberPower support troubleshooting this issue with no success, even trying root and other user accounts. However, when I booted from a different drive with an earlier version of Ventura it worked just fine. CyberPower is investigating.
