It’s a good news/bad news week. On the plus side, Apple finally fixed the bug that prevented Mail from following links to named anchors, making our table of contents links clickable again. Sadly, however, we mourn a steadfast friend of TidBITS who was responsible for ensuring that all TidBITS staffers could cover the just-released iPad.
I was very sad to hear of Eolake’s passing. I didn’t know him incredibly well, but we had a spate of correspondence several years ago, I think before his health issues started to wear him down. He was such a lovely and sensitive person, thoughtful and interested in discussion. A great person to know and I’m sorry I’ll never have the chance to meet him in person. He clearly leaves behind a lot of people who knew him and loved him, and I wish I could offer my condolences to each of them.
