Brings some handy new features to Keynote. (Free, various sizes, macOS 14+)
The App Store now has posted a new version of Keynote (14.2) that requires Sequoia and new versions of Pages and Numbers (both numbered 14.2) that make no mention of Sequoia. I’m running Sonoma and I find it rather odd to have the App Store offer me I can’t run. I’m of the “wait a while” school, and rarely use any of the Apple apps except if I need to make a presentation on my old MacBookAir which does not have any other presentation software installed.
That’s odd! I’m running an Intel iMac on Sonoma, and Keynote, Pages and Numbers have all updated successfully to 14.2.
Same here and this is on Apple silicon. All updated to 14.2 on Sonoma and they all work just fine AFAICT.
I’m on an Intel MacMini 2018 and what Updates says for Keynote is
“See HDR images and movies in greater dynamic range on supported displays. (Requires macOS Sequoia)”
Maybe what they mean is that the HDR images are only available on Sequoia, but that wasn’t how I read it. It would have been clearer to say “only supported on MacOS Sequoia”.
In any case, I haven’t tried the update yet.
Yes, that refers only to that particular feature. If you scroll further down Keynote 14.2’s page in the App Store to the “Information” section, you should see a heading for “Compatibility.” If you click the downward arrow under that heading, it should say “Requires macOS 14.0 or later.”
