My iPhone 11 is gradually falling to pieces. The mute switch constantly turns itself on, etc. I plan on buying an iPhone 16 Pro Max for me and an iPhone 16 Pro for my wife, and would rather buy it sooner than later.
Would it be unwise to do so 2 months after its release ?
I am also curious to understand better the history of “defective” iPhones. Does it happen often ? Historically, how often have actual changes been made in the manufacturing process in the life of an iPhone or does it simply entail a trip to the Apple Store ?
Thank you very much
No, it’s not too early in any way. I can’t remember Apple ever modifying a device after release (until the next version of the product, anyway). Normally, any issues that arise are resolved with software updates.
Apple has undoubtedly already sold millions of the iPhone 16 models, and I’ve heard no general complaints.

thank you very much Adam. Your comment helps me a lot !
Mine works perfectly. I upgraded from an 11 Pro, so quite an improvement.
