I use Halide as my main camera app on an iPhone 15 pro max and noticed the 2x option was missing. Tapping on 1x takes me straight to 5! Pressing and holding on the 1x shows the circle of options with 2 missing.
In the Apple camera app the 2x option is there as usual.
I don’t think it’s a Halide problem because I tried a couple of other camera apps where it’s also missing. Although, the Blackmagic video app does still show it.
Anyone have any ideas what setting I’ve changed without realising?
I’ve tried a phone restart and web search doesn’t show anything useful as far as I’ve tried.
The 2x isn’t a lens - it’s just a crop of the center of the main 1x lens. The 15 Pro has 0.5x, 1x, and 3x optical lenses. (15 pro max is 5x rather than 3x.)
I also dug further into Halide settings and they recently introduced “Process Zero” and made it the default - lucky I read the update notes. That was the problem and changing to any other processing mode brings it back.
