I use the free VirusBarrier Scanner. Since updating to 26.1 it crashes as soon as I start a scan. Is anyone else seeing the same?
I have a discussion going with their support, and have sent crash logs.
It didn’t work for me on my then-new Mac mini running Sonoma. I’d be leery. I haven’t seen the free VirusBanner available on their web site for a while. I’m surprised they are supporting it. Today their web site proudly trumpets “Compatible with MacOS Sequoia,” not good for a company whose software must be up to date. Also, the site is showing me prices in euros (???), though I’m in the US.
Perhaps it’s time for an alternative. Malwarebytes is not the same thing, but they do have and support a free scanner. It’s pester-ware, but just ignore that.
