My friends tell me that my initials/icon appears in red when I text them. Apple says this is an indication that I either don’t have iMessage (i.e. Android) or I don’t have iMessage enabled.
I have an iphone with a current ios and iMessage is enabled.
Any idea as to what might be causing this?
Try looking in settings / messages / share name and photo. I’m thinking that maybe the custom name and icon sharing for your account is set there.
(If that’s the reason then clearly Apple needs to update the scripts that the tech support people use when you call or visit the Genius Bar.)
Thank you very much – I will check that. I should clarify that it was not necessarily Apple that answered my question earlier, it was on the Apple community but that answer was everywhere.
