I (not others) have four (2 used 6+s, an old 12 mini, and a new 17). I used to have a 4s years ago, but I got rid of it due to its spicy pillow.
Man, sounds like I missed out on (a previously unreleased?) Jefferson Airplane bonus with my 4s!
Now I need to remember where my 4s ended up to check it.
So that and my current 13 Mini, that I traded the original SE in for
The only one I’ve kept is my original iPhone. Even kept the box.
I still have an iPhone 4s in regular service, attached to an iHome iH14 desktop radio/charger. It’s isolated on my guest network, and it’s only used for playing streaming radio services. It works as well today for that purpose as it did when it was new. An excellent deskside companion!
Obligatory ensh*ttification comment:
It’s interesting to see how much simpler, better organized, and usable the older versions of streaming music apps (e.g., TuneIn, SiriusXM, iHeart) on the 4s feel when compared with their current versions on my iPhone 13 mini. The odd thing is that screens on an old app versus a new one aren’t necessarily very different; it’s just that buttons that take users where they want to go often are much less prominent in newer versions or something that used to take a single button press now needs more navigation to get where you want to go. It’s subtle, but newer versions just feel like they have more friction and clutter.
Edited to add: The iPhone 4s hasn’t received an update since 2019, so it should be used with caution for security reasons. In my case, it’s been relegated to my guest network, I am careful about the apps and data that I load on it, and I generally keep it signed out of my Apple accounts. You could go further by setting up a completely separate Apple account for use with an unsupported device, but I think you may be limited in the apps you can install from a new account vs retaining apps that were purchased years ago on an older account.
Just the one iPhone SE3 my wife gave a year and a half ago to replace a dead flip phone. My wife has two or three, only one of which she uses. I am avoiding OS 26.
I have a like-new iPhone 6. It’s not “my” iPhone 6, but a replacement that Apple gave me for my original 6, bought in 2015. I took the 6 in for their $29 battery replacement deal. The Genius couldn’t find much wrong from a quick check, although there had been some odd behavior that I described to him. Then we took it out of its sturdy Speck case and one side of the phone immediately produced an opening along the side where no opening should have been. They said they would not even try to deal with that battery, and gave me a replacement phone. I keep it around as an emergency backup.
I got an iPhone 7 in 2018, and I’m still happily using it. It’s had one battery replacement, and is probably due for another. I guess I’d consider a newer-model refurb if I could be guaranteed that it was still on iOS 18.
I have a 16 Pro as my main driver. I also have a 6+ for when I go off the coast to visit islands, to add to my options for decent coverage, that’s a pay-as-you-go deal and the main island I visit has excellent coverage from 3 but lousy coverage from Vodafone which I use on my main phone. The battery life on the 6+ is very poor, I keep it plugged in and my generator keeps various storage batteries juiced.
Those are the ones in use, I still have the original sitting on a shelf, still feels great in the hand, but all of the others have been handed down.
I have that album. Actually, I bought it as a birthday present for my sister but years ago she passed it back to me. It’s in Mono, not Stereo.
My wife still uses an iPhone SE (original) for music at the dance group that she runs. I also have my first iPhone (5s) as a backup for music in case the SE ever quits. Can you say “headphone jack.”
Currently an iPhone 12 that replaced an iPhone 10 when the battery swelled.
The iPhone 10 replaced an iPhone 6 that is in its box somewhere.
The iPhone 6 replaced a lost iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 replaced an iPhone 3 GS that I converted into an iPod 3GS and is in its box somewhere.
The iPhone 3GS replaced an iPhone 1 that I sold.
My everyday phone is a 14 Pro. I have probably 6 or 7 others shoved in a drawer which never get used. They go back to the original iPhone (which seems tiny these days). I also have an original iPod (white, with clickwheel) and samples of most other iPods. Tall, short, screens, no screens - I have quite the collection of junk here.
