Handbrake tip - trimming videos

I thought I would share a tip for using Handbrake to convert videos. I needed to trim a video before conversion. There didn’t seem to be a way to do this in the Handbrake interface or help page but I found a tip on the Web:

  1. Using Quicktime or similar, determine the start and end times for the trimmed video
  2. Open the video in Handbrake
  3. Click on the Range field and select Seconds - the start and end time fields are displayed
  4. Set the start and end times for the clip, as determined in 1
  5. Start the conversion …

Another Handbrake tip. Setting Handbrake’s Video Encoder to use one of the VideoToolBox options causes Handbrake to use the T2’s Apple Silicon video processing capability. Processing is MUCH faster.
