Emoji Use on iOS in Talk Forum

(Sorry, I couldn’t locate the site issue thread)

I just recently noticed the option to respond to a thread comment with an emoji, as well as the heart/fave/like option.

But for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to make it work on iOS; I can open the emoji menu, I can select an emoji, but there is no obvious way to apply said emoji; when I close the screen by tapping outside the box, no emoji appears on the page.

What’s the trick here?

I don’t know if there’s a trick per se. The emoji or heart doesn’t require an apply. This is in the iOS Discourse app.

I guess I didn’t know there was an iOS app; I’m using Safari. I suppose I can download yet another site-specific app that’s probably just using WebKit, anyway, to view webpage that should also just work in the browser but don’t. But it’s going to mess with my bookkeeping; I tend to use open tabs to keep track of things I want to catch up on later.

Thanks for the clue; hopefully it’s a better overall experience, if not I can forego emojis and keep my tabs.

I don’t really use Discourse in iOS, but yes, there’s an app that might make things better.
