DEVONtechnologies has issued DEVONthink 4.2.2, a maintenance release with several AI-focused improvements to DEVONthink Pro. The update adds a Perform Chat Research AppleScript command that enables you to perform AI-driven research with multiple sources, improves database searches via the Chat assistant to filter irrelevant results, updates support for Gemini and Nano Banana, revises the internal names of Anthropic’s Claude models ensure that future model updates won’t break existing scripts, and updates the script assistant to support GPT 5.3 Codex via OpenRouter.
Both the standard and Pro editions enable you to load external JavaScript for Automation (JXA) scripts with a .js extension in the Scripts menu, improve parsing of tags separated by commas or semicolons, and fix a bug that incorrectly converted orphaned OPML documents to RSS feeds or outlines when repairing a database.
