Deleting Snapshots

I was browsing information in Disk Utility about the snapshot highlighted in the screen shot below. It is old (almost a year) and its total size is far less than current usage on the drive.

I wonder what value this snapshot might have since it is old?
Can I safely delete it?
Will a newer version be created?

That snapshot was created by Apple Software Restore (presumably when you cloned this disk), you can delete it. You can always delete snapshots from the Data volume.
