Customizing alert sounds in iPhone 7

Some of my apps have unique notification sounds (maybe they’re all built in, Apple apps?). But a number of apps use the same generic sound; Teams, Capital One, a couple of others. I’ve looked in Settings but haven’t so far been able to see any options for sound notifications other than on/off. Thoughts, is this possible?

Only the app developer can add sounds. I wish this was possible; it is on Android. Or, it used to be back when I used an Android phone.

I don’t remember which version of iOS introduced it, but on my iOS 17.5 I have the option to specify which sound to use for Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Default Alerts. This is the sound used by several of my apps because they don’t include their own notification sound, they just use the system default. I remember how pleased I was when this option finally appeared because I didn’t like the iOS default alert sound.
