I cannot seem to find those options because I don’t like the tiny font size and colors like in Watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - Apple TV trailer (no account required), Plurbius (account required), etc. I am using Firefox v145.0.1 in my old updated, 64-bit W10 Pro. :(
Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)
I believe you must use the Apple TV app on whatever device you’re using to watch the show. If it’s an Apple device, you should be able to customize your closed captioning in a System Setting under Accessibility>Hearing. Several defaults are provided, but you can also create multiple custom settings.
I switched from English SDH to English CC which gave me a white font on solid black background instead of yellowish on a transparent background for Pluribus. But I’m using the Mac App on Apple TV box and my iPad, not a browser, so your experience may be different.
Safari will pick up the Accessibility settings. Chrome claims to be able to use the System Settings, but doesn’t actually use them. Firefox will not open a video. Both Chrome and Firefox encourage me to open the [Apple] TV app. Chrome opens an Apple TV video within Chrome, but Firefox does not.
So, in conclusion, it is safest to use the TV app if it is available or the Safari browser.
Alan, interesting. Must be a macOS thing. Obviously, I don’t have Apple’s TV app in my 64-bit W10 Pro. I also don’t use Chrome web browser. I did try my updated Edge web browser for Watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - Apple TV trailer and also saw the lack of options to customize my CCings and subtitles.
