One thing I like about TidBits newsletters is getting notified about upgrades I might not otherwise notice.
Carbon Copy Cloner is great for an extra backup (I also use Time Machine and BackBlaze). The developer is always very responsive if there are any issues.

If you enable CCC’s Dashboard (from the preferences), the CCC menubar icon will change to get your attention for updates (or issues with scheduled backups).
Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don’t. Same with BBEdit.
After the update I’ve had issues with an external SSD attached to a hub randomly unmounting during extended backups (health check) for no reason; no messages in any log.
