OK, this bug is more subtle than I previously guessed (assuming I’m seeing the same bug Alan did).
In Maps, I pick a first name that appears multiple times in my contacts, like “Dave” and get a list of results. As Alan found, I’ll often end up in a situation where tapping one will result in “No matching places found” (below left) which is patently wrong, since the search results listed the person’s address.
However, if I keep tapping names, both the one that didn’t work and others, eventually one will work. Once that name has worked, all the rest of the names in the list will work on the next try (below right). Getting a non-person location to work doesn’t seem to have the same effect, though.
