Can't configure an IMAP email account on my iPhone - can I sync the account from my Mac?

This is a weird one. There is an IMAP email account I own, and I have the IMAP and SMTP configuration information for it.

It’s just like another account I have at the same service.

I am able to access the email via the web. And I was able to configure the email account on my Mac in Mail.app just fine.

But when I try to set up that account in Mail on my iPhone it says it can’t authenticate, asks me if I want to try non-secure (I really would rather not, but tried it anyway, didn’t work).

Is there a way to just sync all the accounts in Mail on my Mac via iCloud to my iPhone maybe? I don’t have to enable them all, but maybe syncing them would be easier?

Try at first to know the network your iPhone is using, in other words WiFi on/off, and mobile data on/off

I should have posted a followup, sorry. It turned out my local IP address was blocked in a firewall at the service because a no-longer-used account (i.e. disabled in Mail.app) was somehow still trying (and failing) to make a connection. I don’t quite understand the logic of that if the account was disabled. But I deleted, instead of just disabling, the account and after they cleared the firewall it was all ok.
