Does anyone have experience with the Aqara G410 video doorbells for front and back doors using HomeKit Secure Video?
I have the Aqara SVD-KIT1 purchased from Amazon. Photos of the device and packaging look exactly the same, I don’t know if it is any different that the G410. It works with HomeKit. When someone rings the door I get a notification and video on my iPhone and my AppleTV. I’m not using it wired. To cut down on battery use I have it configured to not do constant streaming.
We keep saying, back doors are a bad idea. ![]()
Thank you for replying to my post.
I’m guessing that SVD stands for Smart Video Doorbell.
Regardless …
I think I found the Amazon product description for Aqara SVD-KIT1. This description says that the G410 is “a newer model.” (I can not find any mention of SVD-KIT1 on Aqara’s website.)
Among the differences that I spotted between the Amazon descriptions of these two models are:
- SVD-KIT1 is only 1080p, whereas G410 is 2K (2048 x 1536 pixels). (However, due to a HomeKit restriction, only 1080p is supported if G410 is used with HomeKit. Perhaps a future HomeKit version will lift this restriction and support 2K; one can hope.)
- SVD-KIT1 supports IFTTT, whereas I can not find IFTTT mentiond anywhere for G410.
- G410 includes a Matter Hub, whereas I see no mention of Matter in the Amazon product description for SVD-KIT1.
- G410 supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, whereas SVD-KIT1 supports only 2.4GHz.
Do you record the video on a Micro SD? (On the G410, this card is inserted into the chime.)
This all sounds right. I don’t use IFTTT. I wish mine had a Matter Hub. No, I don’t record video on a Micro SD. I bought this in 2023.
