All of a sudden all of my saved stories in Apple News+ disappeared. The section is now blank. About four years worth!
Googled around and the solution recommended is to delete the News app and reinstall from App Store. But, I’ve read that doing this you will lose everything: magazine subscriptions, history, everything. Which seems extreme. Does anyone know what will really happen? And where does all this data reside? Within the app itself? iCloud? Physically somewhere on the iPad or iPhone?
Apple is not really clear on any of this. This is a paid subscription after all. I would love to find out before deleting and reinstalling. Thank you all in advance, John
This has never happened to me. But have you tried Settings / Apple Account / iCloud, tap “Saved to iCloud”, and toggle News off, then back on again?
UPDATE
Before I did anything drastic, I decided to update from 18.4 to 18.4.1, which must have installed a new copy of News. Saved Stories and History returned so all is well.
