I presume there was some sign off by Apple for the logo placement. Looks like the thickness of an iPod before Ive. Given that it’s an alternate history, maybe Robert Brunner never hired him in the show’s version.

It’s an Apple TV series. Apple devices appear in every Apple TV series that I can think of. The difference here, of course, is that this show isn’t set in our timeline. The current season is set in an alternate 2012 in which the USSR still exists and is allied with the USA and other countries to colonize Mars.

Having seen the season 5 episodes, it’s worth noting that the cast routinely refers to their hand-held devices as “Newtons”.
And prior season showed other devices called “Newton”, some in desktop/clamshell forms.
So in this fictional past, the iPhone didn’t happen, but the Newton PDA evolved into a modern handheld computing device.
