AirPods "skip to next chapter" not working anymore since iOS 16

Hi, in the Podcasts app under iOS 15, I could double-press the force sensor of my AirPods Pro (1st gen) to go directly to the next chapter or track (Apple support article). Now this function only forwards about 30 sec. I couldn’t find any section under Settings to control this behaviour and things didn’t change with the last update to iOS 16.2. Can anybody reproduce this behaviour before/a after the iOS 16 update?

I use Overcast for podcasts myself. But, in Settings / Podcasts on the iPhone, what do you have external controls set to: next/previous or forward/back?

Thanks, Doug, you are absolutely right: it was on Forward/Backward. Switching to Next/Previous restores exactly the behaviour I had before.
