A question about AppleCare One if I have 4 devices

With the new AppleCare One (has that already started?) you get coverage for 3 devices for $19.99.

The standard AppleCare One plan starts at $19.99 a month for three devices. You can add more devices for $5.99 each. All devices must be in good condition, but they don’t have to be newly purchased.

I have 4 AppleCare+ subscriptions right now:

iPhone - $9.99/month
iPad - $5.99/month
MBP - $99.99/year
AppleWatch - $2.49 a month

For the first 3 devices, the new plan seems like a savings. The yearly MBP comes to about $8/month. So I’m currently paying (rounding out): $10 + $6 + 8 = $24/month for those three devices. The new plan would save me $4/month.

Obviously adding in my old AppleWatch, currently at $2.49/month for $5.99 extra would defeat the purpose. So I can keep that as a separate AppleCare+ contract, right?

It would seem so…but since the new AppleCare launched today, nobody outside of Apple knows at this point. Plus Apple being Apple, there could be some weird consequences of mixing Apple Care plans, no?

Also it seems devices must be no more than 4 years old to start the plan? My iPhone 13 Pro is older than that. My MBP 2021 and iPad Pro 2021 are barely in time. Maybe they are ok with items already under AppleCare+ even if older?

It can’t be - they were released in September 2021.

You’re right. I checked and I received it on 12/8/2021.

I guess I’ll check into the plan and see what the drawbacks are compared to my current coverage. I can leave the Watch out of it.

From what I’ve read, AppleCare One may currently be limited to US only, so it may be a moot point. (Apologies if my information was not correct).

I think that part is ok because all my subscriptions, including AppleCare+, are U.S. subscriptions and warranties themselves are international.
