I am a machinist by trade, electrical engineer by profession, and an artist, musician, photographer, and commercial designer by avocation.
I purchased my first “personal computer” in 1976. It was a Digital Equipment Corporation PDP 11-23 running RT-11 v4.0. It booted on an 8" floppy. I mortgaged my house to pay the $12,800 price tag. It’s now sitting in my back yard shed awaiting me to salvage its 19" rack for audio gear.
I bought my first Apple II for a little over $3,000 in 1978. I still have it and it still runs. I became an Apple II Certified Developer in 1982 but never made the transition to the Mac.
I finally replaced my work horse late 2008 dual quad core Xeon Mac Pro in 2021 when the first M1 Mini became available. I upgraded this year to an M2 Pro Mini and hope you use it for a long time for my creative work.
I have long been and remain a major Tidbits fan and have spent a small fortune Take Control books over the years. I shall continue to support the Engsts as long as I draw breath and can reach a keyboard. : )
