My first PC was an Apple II, which I augmented to have lower-case on it’s keyboard (an aftermarket hack), use an IBM Selectric® airline ticket printer as it’s printer, and drive a Calcomp® drum plotter. Later I moved up to an Osborne I (a CP/M) machine. Joined BIX (Byte Information Exchange) which came to me over phone lines at 9600 baud. There I found Tidbits as a topic there, learned about (and came to covet) Macintosh, and finally bought two Mac IIs, one for me and one for my wife. I have used Macs at home, in a research lab, and in a few medical offices ever since. I have purchased (or caused to be purchased) about 30 of them. I have never owned a PC, though there are some must-have apps that I run in emulation using Parallels.
