Thanks Eric! Your javascript works perfectly.
To try this, using my iPhone, I added a Bookmark (to this web page) in Favorites, went into Favorites in Bookmarks, pressed on my new bookmark until options appeared, chose Edit and changed the name to Paywall, selected the address field and deleted it (with x) and pasted in Eric’s code above.
I then went to wsj.com and chose an article. Half of it appeared. I chose my new Paywall link in Favorites and, bingo, a url of the article appeared. Success: Clicking that url brought up the full article.

Sometimes simply viewing the page in “Reader” mode is all you need to do.
