Has anyone tried Transmit’s new feature to convert Google Docs files during download? I’m curious how well that works because it opens up the possibility of automating backup of Google Docs files to the local drive in a useful format.

Hey Adam,

It looks like Transmit is using an “Export URL” to convert the document to docx using the Google Docs API, like:

https://docs.google.com/feeds/download/documents/export/Export?id=abcd1234&exportFormat=docx

So I imagine this is the same output that you would get if you downloaded as a docx within Google Docs.
