Jeff Bezos couldn’t make it happen…wonder if anybody else will take a shot. My guess is that current retailers have too many other challenges right now and VC’s would rather deploy their capital on AI stuff.
Plus retailers want people standing in line, looking at all the candy and magazine and books clustered around the checkouts, and occasionally buying something they don’t really need. If people can just walk out, most of those spontaneous purchases disappear.
