Japan Today has an excellent article on the Apollo mission computers:
Cool. The BBC has a multipart podcast called “13 Minutes to the Moon” which I have been listening too - sort of a history of the whole process to the first moon landing. It is a little slow but quite good. They have mentioned the computer but have not gotten that far yet.
There is a very interesting documentary on the Apollo Guidance Computer available on Youtube, put there by Joshua Bonini: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9YA7X5we8ng
Thanks for this wonderful link!
Another Youtube - apparently booting up an original Apollo computer!
Magnetic core memory with the operating system hardwired in during construction. (episode 5 of the podcast “13 Minutes to the Moon”) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic-core_memory
And thanks for this one too!
