Maybe I’m a little paranoid about all this location tracking, but I keep location access turned off for all apps except first party Apple apps unless I’m actively using a given app. For instance, I use the Shell app to pay for fuel at the pump using ApplePay and to receive Shell’s fuel discounts. I don’t turn on location access for the Shell app until I’m standing in front of the fuel pump I’m about to use and I turn it off before I get back in my car after fueling is complete.
I wish there were federal legislation here in the USA to prohibit the resell/redisclosure of location data without explicit user opt-in.
