Problem updating GarageBand on a new Mac

I just got a new MacBook Air to replace my recently deceased Mac Mini.

The app store reported updates that were needed and I dutifully clicked “Update All”.

When the system got to GarageBand it reported:

“This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.”

Say what? It’s a brand new computer (loaded with data from Time Machine from my old computer). Also - I’ve never used GarageBand. I waited all week to see if anything changed, but apparently not.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Sam

Something went screwy, Probably the easiest thing to do is to just delete Garageband off your Mac and get a fresh copy off the Mac App Store under your usual account, it’s free.

Tommy - That’s the smartest idea I’ve heard yet. Thanks!
