Improves the reliability of audio recording under heavy loads. ($19 new, free update, 8.8 MB)

I have a number of useful apps from Rogue Amoeba. But this one lacks what I view as an an important function that RA knows is missing & for some reason just doesn’t seem to think important.

The missing function is the ability to set an end time to a recording. In other words, you can’t start Piezo & tell it to stop recording after a particular time period. It just records until you stop it.

An end recording option wouldn’t have to be fancy - just something like a drop down that specified ending the recording in 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or never. Right now, “never” is the only choice - you have to manually stop the recording.

This function would make Piezo very useful for casual timeshifting. You could be listening to a stream, find yourself having to leave for a while, & just Piezo the rest of it.

RA has another app - Audio Hijack - which can be used for this purpose, but it has a learning curve that makes it awkward to use infrequently, and is in no fashion a “push & play” app like Piezo.
