A little bit confused…
I guess I had inadvertently created a Pass Key for one of my Gmail accounts
When an issue came up where I needed/wanted to change the password via computer/browser I noticed that the new password would not sync to my iPhone as usually happens automatically.
I think this had something to do with the Pass Key system.
I deleted the old password manually and was able to enter the new password or sync it, I can’t remember which.
Question: is it better to delete passwords and use Pass Keys on devices… or perhaps at least iPhone?
I’d say if security is a primary concern, passkeys are superior to passwords in most cases. If, on the other hand, convenience is important in how you—or the people you help with tech matters—use online accounts, remaining with passwords + 2FA may be an acceptable route.
Thanks.
Something to start looking deeper into.
I barely remember the circumstance … at the time,
and by the time I noticed Google/Gmail sort of nudged it while I wasn’t really paying attention … and
voila … I had a pass key
