also of note is that the new iPadOS versions include “Scribble” - which in my limited tests with an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil works great for note taking. I never actually used an Apple Newton, but Scribble is very cool

The Pages update really messed up our workflow as cloud collaboration with older app versions was nixed. That means that every Pages collaborator had to be on the latest and greatest to be able to work on a shared document – and the latest and greatest in turn demanded OSX 10.15 and later. We have many collaborators on 10.14 who were brusquely and without warning thrown out of the loop that way. Well, what about iCloud collaboration? Excellent option unless you use fonts outside of the Pages-native/included ones – such fonts are not available in iCloud, and the replacing fonts wreak havoc on the layout. So: not a brilliant experience…
