Off-by-one bug in Calendar?

I just want to confirm that others think that this is a bug before reporting it. If I create a new event in Calendar and type in “New event Mar 13-19” I get an autocomplete with those dates, but when I accept the autocomplete with a carriage return the event is scheduled for Mar 13 to Mar 20!

It is crazy that bugs like this still occur!

I tried what you suggest but I cannot replicate what you’re seeing. Neither with iCloud Calendar nor Google Calendar events. This is on 14.6.1 (Sonoma) Calendar. Are you seeing this with Sequoia?

Yes, Sequoia 15.0.1, Apple Silicon, Calendar 15.0. I should have said so originally. I didn’t see this with Sonoma.

I can confirm that it happens on Sequoia on my machine. I rarely do this myself, so not a big deal for me.

I thought that one work-around would be to just enter the end date a day ahead (I know, roll eyes), but there is the strange case that you can’t enter a two day event that way - entering “New event October 13 until October 13” properly creates a one day event, while “New event October 13 until October 14” creates an event that lasts through October 15.

Yes, it is in the latest 15.1 beta also. What is your Feedback number and I will cite it in mine. (I get so tired of these “Recent Similar Reports: None” tags when many folks are reporting a problem.)

I think it says something about Apple’s concern for local/USB/Wi-Fi Calendar syncing when the Feedback form for Calendar problems asks: “What kind of Calendar account is having the problem?” - with choices of “iCloud, Exchange, Google, and Yahoo.” Or, “Something else not on this list.”
