Update:
I got my new “Magic Keyboard with Touch” two days ago.
The Mac Mini won’t arrive until Monday - 3 days from now. Can you imagine my impatience 
Anyway:
After some investigation I now ordered a Satechib USB-C Hub with SSD Case.
I am aware of its USB-port speed and SATA SSD M.2.
But my experience with Satechi have so far been very good and compared to my present Intel iMac set-up still adds some convenience and (hopefully) also a little performance boost.
And it will do for now.
