Anyone have a sense of whether MailMaven uses more disk space for the same # of messages as Apple’s Mail.app – or vice-versa?
With apologies for the thread directional veer. and TIA

For me, Mail V10 folder is ~20 GB. MailMaven Messages folder is ~33 GB. I only use IMAP, two accounts (Fastmail and iCloud), no local message folder.
I don’t know if I’m looking in the right place, but in Library > Mail, the V10 folder is 102GB and the Smallcubes folder is 166MB. Yes, one is in GB and the other MB.
Both folders are dated 2024
Are you using MailMaven? I believe it wasn’t released until 2025. Did you use Mail utilities from SmallCubed, like Mail ActOn? If you’re using MailMaven, its folder is in Application Support.
Yes I’m using MailMaven. I’m aware it is in the applications folder. So is Mail.app. That is not where the messages are stored, though, and that seems to have been the question: storage size
I was trying to clarify about the SmallCubed folder you mention. That is not where MailMaven messages are stored. I suspected you might be looking at an old folder, since you reported it only 166 MB. It sounded like an old support folder for the older SmallCubed applications that worked with Apple Mail.
Yes, both Mail and MailMaven applications are in the Applications folder.
As for storage size: MailMaven messages are stored in your user library, Application Support > MailMaven > Messages folder. Mail messages are user library, Mail folder > V10
.
Thank you for clarifying.
MailMaven in the Application Support>MailMaven>Messages folder is 11.67 GB
As mentioned before Library>Mail>V10 is 103 GB
So in my case MailMaven is smaller than Mail. I use several IMAP accounts. In Mail I have more accounts, some of which I did not activate in MailMaven, in particular one where most if the mail is spam
