To clarify. The MBA was not showing up in “Find My” on any of my other devices or iCloud.com.

Now it does!!! So, Apple must have done some work. Kudos to Apple!!!

MacBook Air 2023 “Find My” is not working. This is an issue according to Apple.

It seemed to work before, maybe before updating Sequoia to 15.6 or 15 7, not sure.

I had 2 sessions with Apple support on this, the most recent one after updating to Tahoe thinking that this release might resolve the issue. During the 2nd session the agent reached out to her supervisor or an engineer and was told that this is a known issue.

Does anyone know about this and have the same problem or had it resolved?

My Mac: About This Mac:

MacBook Air

15-inch, M2, 2023

Chip: Apple M2

Memory: 16 GB

macOS: Tahoe 26.0.1

They should at least send us a AirTag type dongle to use until this terribly important issue is resolved.

@RickK could you clarify? Do you mean you can’t launch the Find My app on your MBA, or do you mean your MBA doesn’t show up in Find My on another device? Your last comment would kind of lead me to think the latter, but I’m not sure.

I possibly have the same problem: my new 16" MBP won’t enable Find My. It was that way during setup last year when I got it, and I tried again recently with the same issue.

When I launch FindMy it says I have to “sign in” but when I turned on “Find My Mac” in System Settings, it asks me if I want it on and the dialog shows it is enabled, but when the dialog goes away, it’s back to Off. Nothing I do will let it turn on.

It’s not a crucial function – this isn’t a laptop that goes anywhere – so I haven’t spent much time on a solution. I haven’t yet upgraded to MacOS 26. I figure that might solve the problem.

Hehe, that’s of course also what Apple suggested to the OP. It didn’t work for them. Neither surprising to me. 26 release notes didn’t contain anything on the topic.
