Lyrics in Apple Music app

It’s always a small thrill when you notice one of those subtle, yet sublime touches of finesse Apple cares enough to add.

I heard the Beatles song “I Saw Her Standing There” at my favorite breakfast nook today, but couldn’t quite make out one of the words in the lyrics. So upon arriving home, I called up the Apple Music app on my iPad, AirPlayed the audio to my HomePod, and started up the song.

I then called up the Lyrics display and followed along as the song played. On the last word of the line “And I held her hand in mine”, the moving highlight actually slowed way down, perfectly transiting over the very long and drawn out rendition of “mi-iiiiiiiine”. I couldn’t contain my laughter at the playful accuracy of the highlighter.

Just thought I’d share a little Apple whimsy with everyone….

This is commonly seen on karaoke media (CD+G, DVD or LaserDisc). It greatly helps a singer keep up with the lyrics.

Looks like someone at Apple is a karaoke fan.

Ah yes, karaoke – how can I forget the time I belted out an embarrassingly inferior rendition of Queen’s “Jealousy” in front of my colleagues at a Japanese Korean BBQ joint?

My lesson – do not take Freddie Mercury’s vocal range for granted! :open_mouth:

You’re a legend simply for making the attempt!
